Bird Of Paradise

Bird of paradise is also known as crane flowers, is one of the most exotic plants in tropical landscapes. This native of south Africa gets its name from unusual flowers, which resemble birds in flight. This evergreen plant reaches a height of 4-5′ tall and 2-3′ spread. Requires full sun, but will tolerate lightly shaded areas.

Shi – Shi Camellia

This plant has a profusion of hot pink blooms with dark green leaves. Flowers are perfect for cutting. Use as a colorful low hedge. Blooms December thru January. It is one our best evergreen shrubs.

Dwarf Mondo Grass

This dwarf variety creates a lush groundcover of dense, dark green, grass like clumps. Excellent as an edging plant or planted between stepping stones or rocks. It grows in shady areas and is evergreen.

Creeping Fig Ivy

Vigorous growing, dense branches cling firmly to any surface. A great choice for climbing walls, pillars, arbors and fences. Can grow in part to full sun.

Indian Hawthorne

Indian hawthorne is a great shrub for sunny locations. It’s easy to care for because it keeps a neat, rounded shape without too much pruning. This shrub looks great year around and displays clusters of white flowers.

Petunias

One of the most popular bedding plants. These annuals provide mountains of color to gardens and containers. Best planted in fall and early spring. They come in a wide range of colors and like to be planted in full sun.

Pansy

This great annual adds plenty of color to your garden in late fall and winter when weather gets cooler. It can handle freezing weather with no problem. Also comes in many different colors. Plant them in sun or part shade.

Dwarf Snapdragons

Growing snapdragons in the flower bed provide cool season and a mid sized plant to balance tall background plants. They do well in a sunny location and prefer some clipping to encourage more flowering.

Sweet Alyssum

A real winner. The abundant white blooms make this plant easy to use in garden designs – they can truely go with everything. They work best at the front edge of gardens or even cascading over the edges of pots. Comes in purple and pink also, but white really stands out. Plant in sunny location fall thru winter.

Kale

This kale grows like their close relatives of edible cabbages and kale. Although they are edible, they aren’t as tasty. They are bred for looks, not flavor. Make a great contrast to more traditional annuals in your winter garden. Likes sun and cool temps.

Violas

The National Gardening Bureau picked violas as their plant of the year. Also known as Johnny Jump Ups, these annuals are easy to care for and do best in sunny locations planted fall thru winter.  They come in many colors and are not tall. We have seen each plant have as many as 20 blooms per plant once fully grown.

Lamandra Grass

Lomandra grass is a native Australian grass. Nothing beats the sway and swish of ornamental grasses in the landscape. One of the nicest grasses for dry and wet locations. This versatile plant makes a perfect background plant with a great leaf texture. Needs very little water and low maintenance.

Sunpatien

Sunpatien is a hybrid of traditional impatien with larger New Guinea. The result is a variety that thrives in full sun and humid weather. Blooms straight through from late spring to fall. Great for containers. Prefers full sun to part shade.

Christmas Berry

This is a great compact shrub that grows in shady conditions. Produces red berries around Christmas. It reaches a height of 36″. Easy to care for. Leaf texture mixes well with other plants in the landscape.

Trellis Little Gem Magnolia

A dwarf southern magnolia with smaller dark green leaves. Very attractive compact grower. Trained to grow on trellis. Make a beautiful accent ornamental tree against a fence or wall. Produces white, fragrant blooms.

Japanese Magnolia

These fine trees can be used in the landscape as specimen trees or accents. Noted for there blooms, these trees put on a show every year. They prefer partial sun about 6 hours per day. Blooms late winter into spring. Once blooms are finished green leaves flush out till next season.

Cast Iron Plant

This plant is as tough as its name. Excellent for those difficult to fill areas in deep shade. It spreads gently by underground stems. A lush, leafy evergreen that will tolerate a wide range of growing conditions. Very easy to grow and low maintenance.

Lemon Ball

Lemon Ball is one one of those plants that people ask “what is that”. It stands out because of it’s intense yellow color and foliage. Needs very little water and loves sunny locations. Will also do good in pots.

Regina Iris

Regina iris produces a beautiful blue flower through out the summer. It can be planted in many light conditions but prefers full sun. Really adds a nice leaf texture to any landscape design.

Also known as Leopard plant. This evergreen has shiny foliage and does really well in shaded gardens. It looks best when mass planted. Ferns and Hostas compliment this beautiful shrub.

Curcuma

Curcuma is a stately and elegant summer blooming flower. This tropical plant produces beautiful pink, purple, or white flowers all summer long. Great addition to any garden.
